In October, after a full on Summer of adventures and challenges, the last two pirates standing were fortunate enough to be invited to the CORE training course in Poland. With autumn in full swing, we spent 10 rich and full days harvesting what we had grown over the summer. Through movement and embodiment practices, and thought-provoking reflections, we explored the importance of Collective Responsibility, and how this manifests on both an individual and community level. Sylwia, Angie and Magda took us on a journey that day by day empowered us to step fully into our bodies and creativity. We were also invited to share our own knowledge and passions in morning practice and evening sessions, and we had the joy of participating in a whole range of workshops from intuitive singing, massage, contact improvisation, improv theatre, and even virtual reality.

After a week of exploring our own and societal values and needs, we were invited to think about how we could share all that we had learned with our own communities, and given the space and support to share our ideas. For the pirates, it was an amazing opportunity to think about our values and reflect upon how we can use the magic of circus to meet the needs of our communities. It was a transformative process to witness how, in the space of just 10 days with the right tools and support, we could be given all of the building blocks to turn our ideas and creativity that much closer to reality. We are so grateful to the CORE team and our Wataszka family and hope to share and create together in the future!
